Guides posted outside bathrooms at Northern Arizona University inform students they have “pee privilege” by knowing which bathroom to use.

According to Campus Reform, a sign posted outside bathrooms on campus asks, “Do you have pee privilege?” It then allegedly explains “pee privilege” means “never have to think about gender identity, ability, or access when peeing.”

Another sign claims “pee privilege” relates to the “ability to undoubtedly know which bathroom to pick,” meaning anyone who does not identify as transgender suffers from pee privilege.

“Pee privilege” reportedly relates to the safety, as people who have pee privilege have the “ability to use a restroom without fear or concern for your own safety constitutes.”

NAU’s bathrooms also have a “do’s and don’ts” guide for people who encounter a transgender person in the bathroom. The guide begins by instructing people to “mind your business.”

All of the bathroom guides include the URL for a Tumblr blog, not an official university website.

The Tumblr includes detailed information and maps for bathrooms across as the NAU campus for transgender people to choose the bathroom that would make them feel the most comfortable.
