DNA Shows Sen. Rubio 50 Times More Native American Than Sen. Warren

Sen. Marco Rubio (R-Fla.) discovered a link to his Native American ancestors through an appearance on the show Finding Your Roots.

In the PBS episode that recently aired, the host claims that an ancestor on Rubio's mother's side was "pure Native American."

The Native American blood line accounts for 4.2 percent of Rubio's genetic makeup. This would make him nearly 1/20th Native American.

Rubio’s DNA results were very different than those of Sen. Elizabeth Warren (D-Mass.).

Warren, who has a history of presenting herself as Native American during her professional career, released the results of a DNA test last year which showed she may be 1/1,024th Native American.
