Disney Threatens to Stop Filming in Georgia If the State Doesn't Keep Killing Babies

Disney says they might have to pull out of filming in Georgia if the state puts an end to the legally sanctioned murder of infants.

Disney CEO Bob Iger said Thursday that it’d be “very difficult” for the company to continue shooting their movies and shows in Georgia if the state's recently-signed abortion law is carried out, citing the number of actors who’ve already said they won’t take jobs in the state.

“I rather doubt we will” continue filming in Georgia, Iger said. “I think many people who work for us will not want to work there, and we will have to heed their wishes in that regard.”

Disney joins NBCUniversal, Netflix and WarnerMedia in saying they might stop filming in the Peach State if the law is carried out – however, none of the companies have yet pulled out of their Georgia-based products altogether. However, at least two movies (that literally no one has ever heard of) have already canceled plans to film in the state.

Georgia's recently passed law bans abortion after a fetal heartbeat can be detected, usually around six weeks into a pregnancy. Unlike similar laws in Alabama and Mississippi, the law does allow for exceptions in cases of rape or incest, as well as to save the life of the mother.

Several celebrities, including abortion activist-turned-sex striker Alyssa Milano and Game of Thrones’ star Sophie Turner, have already vowed to boycott working in the state over the legislation.

Georgia has long been a popular filming destination for Hollywood filmmakers and show producers, largely thanks to their 20 percent tax credit.
