Thomas Homan is the acting director of the Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE), so obviously, he is not a big fan of "sanctuary cities" that harbor illegal aliens.

However, Homan told the Washington Examiner that of the more than 300 sanctuary cities in the United States, there are three that are worse than the rest: Chicago, New York, and San Francisco.

These three cities may be far apart geographically, but they all have one thing in common: they do not cooperate with ICE officers to detain illegal aliens who've been convicted of crimes.

Homan explained to the Examiner that these cities "don't accept our detainers. They don't share information with us." This baffles him.

"Why would Cook County [Illinois] not want my officers, federal law enforcement officers, to go talk to somebody who is illegally in the United States that committed yet another crime against the citizens of this country? It's ludicrous."

Homan said that this results in illegal alien offenders being put back on the street to commit the same crimes over again. No wonder he called these cities "un-American."
