Think whatever you may about January 6 - just don't ask Ron DeSantis.
The Florida Governor had zero patience for moderators' questions over whether or not then-Vice President Mike Pence "did the right thing" by certifying the results of the 2020 election.
"This election is not about January 6 of 2021. It's about January 20 of 2025, when the next president is going to take office," DeSantis said. "I know what the Democrats would like to do they wanna talk about all these other issues, but we've got to focus on your future."
"Republicans, we've got to look forward, and we've got to make sure we're bringing the message that can win in 2024," he continued.
DeSantis then pushed back on Pence, who insisted that everyone on the stage should go on record with whether they believe he upheld the constitution that day by certifying the election results despite Trump's demands to the contrary.
Is this what we're going to be focusing on - the rehashing of this? I'll tell you, the Democrats would love that," DeSantis fired back.
