Attempts to link Democratic candidates to House Minority Leader Nancy Pelosi (D-Calif.) are sexist. If you don’t believe it, just ask House Democratic Caucus Chair Rep. Joe Crowley (D-N.Y.).

“I think quite frankly it's sexist,” Crowley said at a press briefing Wednesday. That’s right, linking Democratic congressional candidates to their party’s leader in the House is now sexist.

Crowley made the bizarre claim in response to a question about PA House candidate Conor Lamb’s public claims that he wouldn’t support Pelosi to lead again.

“He particularly distanced himself from leader Pelosi, so is that some kind of model for other Democrats?” Crowley was asked.

“This election was not about Nancy Pelosi,” Crowley replied.

“Conor Lamb really localized the issue. The attempt here to nationalize it by the Republicans – I think they need to get a new game book. The attempts to use Nancy Pelosi, it’s failing them at this point. And I think quite frankly, it’s sexist. So they need to move on from that.”

Pelosi is clearly just beyond any criticism – to think otherwise, now makes you sexist.
