Delusional Much? Washington Post Article Claims Barack Obama is a 'Conservative'

Imagine being so far-left that everything right of you is now considered “conservative.” Being the media, it’s becoming easier to tell that they have no idea what a conservative actually is.

The Washington Post, where “Democracy dies in darkness,” published an article last Friday in its “Outlook” section in which Assistant Editor David Swerdlick writes that former president Barack Obama is now a “conservative.” It’s literally the entire headline.

“Barack Obama, conservative,” Swerdlick’s headline read.

Come on. You can’t be that high, David.

I won’t go into all the details of Swerdlick’s article, because I don’t have that much time for this much stupid.

Swerdlick, along with many more in the media who don’t understand anything outside of their immediate bubble, confuses Republicans with conservatives. They aren’t always — less than you’d think — the same thing.

The motivation for the article came from Obama recently saying that the 2020 Democrat candidates for president need to slow down in saying how far left their policies are going to be should they win the election. Obama warned against the dangers of pushing “woke” cancel culture, much to the chagrin of many leftists who previously thought Obama was “on their side.”

He still is, he’s just not as forward with it as some activists are. Obama believed, and still does, in the slow burn approach to implementing socialism and policies that benefit the globalist crowd.

The article talks about how Obama’s Affordable Care Act (ACA) was based on “Republican” Sen. Mitt Romney’s (R-Utah) similar health care plan that he put in place when he was the governor of Massachusetts.

FYI, Romney is NOT a conservative.

Here’s an excerpt of Swerdlick’s article further showing how much he knows about “conservatives”:

But the contrast between Obama’s steady approach and the seeming radicalism of his Democratic heirs can’t just be chalked up to changing times. It’s because the former president, going back at least to his 2004 Senate race, hasn’t really occupied the left side of the ideological spectrum. He wasn’t a Republican, obviously: He never professed a desire to starve the federal government, and he opposed the Iraq War, which the GOP overwhelmingly supported. But to the dismay of many on the left, and to the continuing disbelief of many on the right, Obama never dramatically departed from the approach of presidents who came before him.

There’s a simple reason: Barack Obama is a conservative.

The Washington Post actually pays this guy for his “expertise.” Again, Republican doesn’t always equal conservative.

Now, of course, Obama did have his moments where he would say something about illegal immigration or free speech that right-of-center outlets will trot out and say, ‘See?! Even Obama said it!’ That still doesn’t make him a conservative.

This is the same guy who famously told business owners “you didn’t build that” in order to justify raising taxes on those who made more than $250,000 annually.

The bottom line is that Democrats and those on the far-left — who can tell the difference at this point — are beginning to distance themselves from Obama, because leftist policies are “progressing” quick enough for the ADD generations currently in and entering the political landscape.

Obama was most definitely NOT a conservative, but it’s funny to see those in the bought-and-paid-for media pretend like he is, not only for clicks, but because their “utopia” looks more and more like Fantasyland and less like reality.
