De Niro Tells Middle East Crowd: U.S. 'Suffering' from 'Case of Temporary Insanity'

4.7k views

Remember when actor Robert De Niro used to be considered a “tough guy” and a “man’s man” after years of roles in which he played the parts of actual “tough guys?” Well, he did a great acting job, because he’s not really a tough guy.

Over the last couple of years, he’s revealed himself to be nothing more than a serial complainer who uses profanity to describe President Trump, because he’s got to attempt to convey just how tough he still is.

On Sunday, De Niro proved once again that he’s only a tough guy when speaking in front of people who agree with his radical points of view.

This time De Niro spoke at the World Government Summit in the United Arab Emirates — why is anybody’s guess. De Niro decided to deride his own country — that provided him with all of his success — because he disagrees with the Trump administration’s stance on climate change.

“I am talking about my own country, the United States of America,” De Niro told the foreign audience. “We don’t like to say we are a ‘backward’ country so let’s just say we are suffering from a case of temporary insanity.”

You ever notice that De Niro never actually gives any facts as to why he disagrees with a stance, but he never misses an opportunity to chastise the president with expletive-laden rants?

While De Niro is well within his rights to give his unvarnished opinion about the president, he must also accept the consequence of looking like a petty idiot with no foundation for his hatred of anything Trump. If he actually ever said anything with some kind of factual backing, perhaps we could take his maniacal diatribes more seriously.

But, don’t worry. It doesn’t seem like that’s going to happen any time soon.

De Niro has said a lot worse while trying to maintain his faux “tough guy” persona.

Back in early January, De Niro spoke to other Hollywood cult members in New York while introducing actress and Hollywood’s “moral compass,” Meryl Streep. De Niro took the opportunity to tell the National Board of Review awards gala crowd how he really felt about Trump while giving no reasons as to why.

This is video of De Niro's introduction of Meryl Streep:

Here's what De Niro said:

It was fascinating to watch “The Post” [film]. That story took place nearly 50 years ago, but there are many parallel today, obviously. At the time of the story Donald Trump was from “bone spurs.” Today the world is suffering from the real Donald Trump.

Come on! Let’s go! What are we talking about? Let’s clap for that. This f****** idiot is the president!

It’s the emperor’s new clothes. The guy is a f****** fool, come on[…]

Our government today, with the prompting of our “baby-in-chief” — j***-off-in-chief I call him — has put the press under siege, ridiculing it and trying to discredit it through outrageous attacks and lies.

Easy there, Bobby. You’’re not playing a lifelong criminal at the moment.

In April 2017, De Niro sat down for an interview with Bloomberg Businessweek Editor-In-Chief Megan Murphy, and the 74-year-old actor took that interview as an opportunity to make himself sound extremely petty.

Despite De Niro's agreement on Trump's handling of the Syrian chemical attack on its own people, De Niro said that he fears that Trump could be eventually be construed as a "good president" after a possible future conflict.

Here's video of De Niro's backhanded comments:

"Like, what he [Trump] did in Syria, I agree with what he should've done," De Niro struggled to say, "but I don't know where that's going to go. I'm worried that we're [U.S.] going to get into a situation where we have a real confrontation - and in that sense he might do something and he'll get credit for it - and everybody'll think he's a great president, or something along those lines."

There was a time when De Niro was universally loved in the American ethos. But, it’s become sad in the last few years to see a once great actor reduced to issuing narrative-based insults, because he still wants to work within the Hollywood cult.
