“I think [Sen. Harry Reid (D.-Nev.)] is an absolutely poisonous person in the United States Senate in politics, and the entire country would be much better off, I think the Democrats would be better off, if he were to move on,” said Dana Perino, co-host of Fox’s “The Five,” when asked her opinion on Sen. Harry Reid (D-Nev.)

Perino was answering whether she thought Reid would transition from Senate Majority Leader to Minority Leader now that the Democrats lost seven out of the nine seats that were open in the U.S. Senate.

She continued: “But, I think [Reid’s] extremely powerful and has a big reelection coming up in Nevada and that’s going to be a tough race for him and [the Democrats] are not going to want to diminish him in any way. If they take away his leadership position, he probably will lose.”

Before becoming a Fox commentator, Perino served under George W. Bush and was the second female White House Press Secretary.
