Sure, murders are up, there’s a carjacking on every street corner, and the Subway has basically become Thunderdome, but remember, ya’ll - crime is totally not on the rise in blue cities, and everyone who says otherwise is a literal Nazi.

Of course, that story is unlikely to fly with at least one disabled man, who was assaulted and robbed in broad daylight on Wednesday in Mayor Eric Adams’ New York City.

The 40-year-old man was reportedly sitting in his wheelchair on Fifth Avenue near West 58th Street in Midtown when he was randomly attacked and choked by a thief who then made off with his cell phone. A few bystanders said they tried to help, but the assailant threatened them with a knife. Thankfully, no one was hurt.

Unfortunately, the same can’t be said of all victims. Also this week, a 36-year-old mom and her 10-year-old daughter were riding the Subway in the Bronx when a woman approached them and, for seemingly no reason whatsoever, began punching the mom in the face before attacking the little girl. The assault landed both victims in the hospital. Their attacker has yet to be caught.
