Florida opened a new detention facility for illegal aliens – policed by alligators – on Tuesday, and Pres. Trump was there to take a tour and celebrate the event.
As CNSNews previously reported, Alligator Alcatraz is the brainchild of Florida Attorney General James Uthmeier, who recently proposed converting an old Air Force training facility into an illegal immigrant detention center.
“I call it, ‘Alligator Alcatraz,’ AG Uthmeier explained at the time, noting that it would be suicidal to escape from the detention center, since it’s completely surrounded by the Everglades:
“If people get out, there’s not much waiting for them – other than alligators and pythons.
“Nowhere to go, nowhere to hide.”
The suggestion was immediately embraced and fast-tracked by Republican Florida Governor Ron DeSantis – and eight days later it was operational.
“We’re arresting the worst of the worst, always first,” Pres. Trump said Tuesday, joined at the site by Department of Homeland Security Sec. Kristi Noem and Gov. DeSantis. “The job they’ve done is fantastic. And this is what you need. And Ron worked beautifully with Kristi and all of the people at Homeland Security.”
"This is all because of an open border policy where 25 million people flowed in from all over the world, prisons, all over the world they flowed in," Trump explained.
“[Former Pres. Joe] Biden wanted me in here. It didn’t work out that, but he wanted me in here, that son of a bitch,” Trump chuckled.
