Democrat Newark Mayor Ras Baraka was arrested Friday when he stormed a newly-opened U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) detention center and refused to leave.
“The Mayor of Newark, Ras Baraka, committed trespass and ignored multiple warnings from Homeland Security Investigations to remove himself from the ICE detention center in Newark, New Jersey this afternoon,” U.S. Attorney for the District of New Jersey reported in a social media post:
“He has willingly chosen to disregard the law. That will not stand in this state. He has been taken into custody. NO ONE IS ABOVE THE LAW.”
Newark is a so-called “sanctuary city” for illegal aliens.
“It’s very simple,” Habba told Fox News: “We will not stand for anybody getting in the way of getting rid of criminals. He will be charged.”
“There is a problem with breaking the law for political hierarchy. Will not stand. Will not be tolerated. No one is above the law,” Habba declared.
