Anybody ever want to know what human wastes of space look like? Well, look at the picture above, and there you go.

According to KTLA in Los Angeles, a man and woman were caught trying to cross the border using the pedestrian lane from the U.S. into Tijuana, Mexico with a duffle bag containing the body of a 2-year-old girl.

These piles of human trash are 39-year-old Johnny Lewis Hartley and 43-year-old Mercy Mary Becerra. Hartley was arrested immediately, but Becerra tried to flee the scene into Mexico. Hartley was arrested with the duffle bag, and it was revealed that there was a body in the bag after authorities took an x-ray.

Lt. Ray Valentin of the San Diego Police Department said, “We were informed that a gentleman was detained who was carrying a duffel bag that contained the body of a small child.”

Hartley and Becerra were also revealed not to be the girl’s parents.

Becerra was caught not long after fleeing the scene. Mexican authorities turned both Hartley and Becerra over to U.S. investigators.

KTLA reported:

Inmate records show Hartley was booked about 7:30 a.m. Wednesday into San Diego Central Jail on suspicion of first-degree murder and child cruelty. He was due for arraignment Friday.

Becerra was booked into the Las Colinas Detention and Reentry Facility in Santee about 7:45 a.m. Wednesday on suspicion of the same charges. Her arraignment was also scheduled for Friday. It is unclear where the pair will be arraigned.

The moral of the story? Lock these two up and throw away the key.
