If you’re a fan of Futurama, you’ve probably seen the wonderful quote from Bender pop up on the internet: “The whole world must learn of our peaceful ways… By force!”

This quote perfectly encapsulates the mindset of liberals these days, specifically the ones in my generation (millennials). Always quick to preach about love and tolerance, but the second you don’t conform to their way of thinking, they are quick to label you every “–ist” word in the book.

That’s exactly what happened last week at the University of California at Berkley, when the school’s College Republicans set up a table on campus to promote their group, along with a cardboard cutout of Donald Trump. As one can imagine, the wonderfully accepting and tolerant liberals on campus were quick to express their peaceful ways by surrounding the table, shouting slurs and physically assaulting the students staffing the booth, and ripping up the cardboard cutout.

Peace on earth in our time, indeed.

Really though, this should not really be all that surprising. Liberals are always quick to point out any altercations that might break out at Trump rallies and tie it back as a reflection on the candidate himself, but refuse to acknowledge their own hypocrisy of not "tolerating" people with different beliefs than theirs. After all, can you imagine the outcry and righteous indignation that would have happened if a conservative group of students had torn up a Hillary Clinton cutout? That would have been a prime-time news story on MSNBC.

In an open Facebook post to the school’s student governing body, CR President Jose Marine Diaz expressed his frustration for having his group’s free speech trampled upon, and urged that they be allowed to express their views safely:

“Berkeley College Republicans and conservatives alike do not feel safe expressing their views on campus. But we are not asking for a safe space – we are asking for tolerance.”

For the record, here's what the booth looked like before the assault:
