Left-leaning talk show host Stephen Colbert gave a short but genuine tribute to the recently deceased Supreme Court Justice Antonin Scalia on Monday night.

Colbert acknowledged his jokes and criticisms about Scalia in the past, but talked about how Scalia won him over with his sense of humor:

He was universally acknowledged to be an intellectual giant who left his mark not only on the court, but on how to interpret the Constitution. And whether or not you agreed with him, or made a lot of jokes about him like I did, one thing you’ve got to admit is that he had a great sense of humor.

"The Late Show with Stephen Colbert" host finished his story about his brief interaction with Scalia at the White House Correspondents Dinner in 2006 with, “Don’t you make me love you, old man!”
