CNN's Tapper Says 'Allahu Akbar' Is 'Beautiful' After NY Truck Attack

While CNN’s legitimate bias hasn’t really been a question over the last couple of years, now we can add timing to their list of peculiar behavior.

Less than two hours after terror suspect (and non-U.S. citizen) Sayfullo Saipov’s act of terror in the form of a truck attack in lower Manhattan on Tuesday, in which eight people were murdered and 15 others were injured, CNN’s Jake Tapper said something that made people scratch their heads after it was reported that Saipov had shouted “Allahu Akbar” during the attack.

“The Arabic chant Allahu Akbar, God is great,” Tapper told CNN Crime and Justice reporter Shimon Prokupecz during the broadcast. “Sometimes said under the most beautiful of circumstances, and too often we hear it being said in moments like this.”

There’s a reason we hear it too often in “moments like this.” All too often we hear that radical Muslims say “Allahu Akbar” when committing an act of terror.

Here’s the Tapper clip:

The thing is, Tapper is absolutely correct. Saying “God is great” can be a beautiful thing as long as it's not associated with a terrorist act. But his timing was just awful.

However, Saipov had just committed terrorism on U.S. soil, and Tapper took no time to, possibly unintentionally, push an agenda that it’s not about Islam.

In this case, it kind of is. Sorry, Jake.
