“…be careful what you wish for.”

Those were the sentiments of Rep. Jeff Van Drew (D-N.J.) on Thursday following House Speaker Nancy Pelosi’s (D-Calif.) bizarre press conference in which she instructed House chairmen “to proceed with Articles of Impeachment.”

According to CNN’s Manu Raju, Van Drew allegedly told him that “he plans to vote against all the articles of impeachment ‘unless there’s something I haven’t seen, haven’t heard before.’”

Van Drew supposedly told Raju, in seemingly separate quotes, that these impeachment proceedings are “tearing this nation apart,” “and I want to bring people together.”

Raju also reported that he briefly spoke to Rep. Collin Peterson (D-Minn.), who apparently said that he doesn’t “have an idea what they’re doing” concerning whether he would vote to impeach.

Van Drew and Peterson were the only two Democrats who voted against having the impeachment inquiry.
