Clinton Email to Supporters: Win a Date With Bill

In a potential public relations nightmare, someone on Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign thought it was a good idea to offer a contest to meet former president and renowned womanizer Bill Clinton for dinner.

The title of Clinton's email employs a line a person often uses to ask someone on a date who they only know from the Internet: "I think we should meet."

The short email provides little context to the contest. It commands, "Meet me on the trail for dinner."

"There's nothing like ending a long day with a nice meal and good conversation," Clinton begins his plea to coax unsuspecting women (or men) into having dinner--for Hillary's presidential campaign, of course.

Clinton continues, "I'd love to sit down with you and hear your story." ("Tell me about yourself," in date-speak).

However, Bill won't be the one picking up the tab. According to Clinton, "the campaign would like to treat."

Bill insists, "We can cover a lot of ground over dinner." Potential dinner topics include typical date fare: "Where you think the country should be going, what you're excited or worried about, and just as importantly, what you're reading."

"We can talk about politics if you want, or you can let me brag a little about my amazing granddaughter (and you can tell me about your family, too!)"

The Clinton campaign offers a “special invitation for winner and a guest to attend an official campaign event where they will meet Bill Clinton,” as well as round-trip airline tickets for the winner and a guest, and a one-night hotel accommodation for the contest winner and a guest.

No word on whether Monica Lewinsky ever received such swanky accommodations.
