Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign marked Clinton’s 1,000th day supporting gay marriage by launching “LGBT for Hillary.”

An email from Ricky Martin on Dec. 12 announced the creation of LGBT for Hillary.

According to Martin, LGBT for Hillary is a “new group of Hillary fans who are committed to continuing the fight for full equality for all Americans -- regardless of gender or sexuality.”

Martin’s pitch continued, “Hillary has been a fighter for us for years, from supporting equal workplace legislation to working for equal rights for trans Americans.”

The word “years” is notable because Clinton proclaimed her support for gay marriage less than three years ago. Clinton stated her position in favor of gay marriage in a video released by the Human Rights Campaign on March 18, 2013.

In fact, the email about the creation of LGBT for Hillary was sent exactly 1,000 days after Clinton announced her support for gay marriage.

It is not clear whether the creation of LGBT for Hillary on this particular day is a coincidence or an intentional move by the campaign.
