New emails released by WikiLeaks show Center for American Progress president Neera Tanden asking if the person who advised Hillary Clinton to use a private email address has been “drawn and quartered” because the “whole thing is fucking insane.”
The email chain shows Tanden wrote a few emails to Clinton campaign chairman John Podesta in regards to a CNN poll. In the first email, Tanden says she will be talking to Jake Tapper about a national CNN poll:
I'm doing jake tapper and they have a national poll coming out. They wouldn't tell me results but if I had to guess it - discerning from our prep call -will show Bernie doing pretty well w Hillary and doing as well against Jeb or close to it.
In response, Podesta muses about what the Republicans would do if Vermont. Sen. Bernie Sanders became the Democratic presidential nominee:
PS can you imagine what the Republicans would do to him if he were the nominee?
Tanden replies by saying she “hope the Democratic party is not suicidal”:
Well, let's see what the poll actually says.
Let's hope the Democratic party is not suicidal.
In another email response, Tanden asks:
Do we actually know who told Hillary she could use a private email? And has that person been drawn and quartered?
Like whole thing is fucking insane.
Tanden is allegedly part of the Clinton transition team.
