During a speech at the Trenton premiere of the documentary Waiting For Superman New Jersey Governor Chris Christie talked about his vision for education. He slammed people who excuse the failure of the education system by pointing to how much money they've thrown at it. As if that somehow makes up for the lives they've destroyed...
Christie is right. It is time for us to move past the petty politics of education reform and actually do something substantial. For decades we have thrown money at the education system and hired more and more teachers yet we haven't improved results.
It's time to change the way we do things. Nothing may be more vital than this. Clearly Christie understands that.
