If a gunshot rings out in Chicago, does anyone hear it?

The "tree falling in an empty forest" analogy is becoming more and more applicable amidst reports that Chicago police have pulled back in their preventing of crime because of “social justice” fears.

Over the weekend, considered to be Friday evening to early Monday morning, eight more people were killed and 33 others were injured in shootings across the Chicagoland area.

In one incident, an 18-year-old woman was shot dead and two teenage boys were injured while attending a vigil for a 23-year-old man who had been murdered outside his home the day before.

While crime as a whole has become normal everyday activity in Chicago, 2016 has been one of the city's deadliest and most violent years in decades.

The Wall Street Journal reported that one of the reasons for the uptick in crime has been because Chicago police have “pulled back” because they feel they cannot do their jobs they way they need to.

Social justice warriors, race hustlers and the media have made it so difficult for police to actually police neighborhoods that pulling people over and preventing crime has taken a back seat to self-preservation.

According to the Wall Street Journal:

In October 2015, Mayor Rahm Emanuel told U.S. Attorney General Loretta Lynch during a crime meeting in Washington, D.C., that the Chicago police had gone “fetal,” and were less likely to interdict criminal behavior. That pull-back worsened in 2016, with pedestrian stops dropping 82% from January through July 20, 2016, compared with the same period in 2015, according to the Chicago police department. The cops are just “driving by people on the corners,” Mr. Angelo [president of the Chicago police union] says, rather than checking out known drug dealers and others who raise suspicions. Criminals are back in control and black lives are being lost at a rate not seen for two decades.

Chicago’s cops are responding to political signals from the most powerful segments of society. President Obama takes every opportunity to accuse police of racially profiling blacks and Hispanics.

Not only do police have to worry about being vilified by the president for doing their jobs, but there is apparently an agreement between the city of Chicago and the Illinois chapter of the ACLU to review every single police stop.

All of these social justice nimrods keep calling for someone to police the police. Well, it’s already being done, so can you just shut up now and let them get back to doing their jobs?

And if police officers fearing for their jobs because of nonsense wasn’t enough, they also need to fear for their lives.

The Journal also reported:

Three gangs—the Vice Lords, Black Disciples and Four Corner Hustlers—reached a pact in August to assassinate Chicago officers, according to a police departmental alert. The National Gang Intelligence Center has also picked up on plans to shoot officers.

Honestly, someone in Chicago government needs to have an epiphany and let the police department round up these fake tough guys, who are only in gangs because they can’t make friends otherwise, and use a couple dozen paddy wagons to do the job.

And for the people who always cry racism or profiling, how high will the predominantly black body count need to get in order for them to say that enough is enough?
