No matter what anyone may think of it, one of our country’s greatest cities — Chicago — is in peril. Former President Donald Trump tried to help out at least a couple of times during his administration, but Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot rejected any aid because…oRaNgE MaN bAd!

Now, the city seems to have all but stopped from trying to prevent the mass amount of shootings across the city, the mayor looks to have outed herself as a racist and the Chicago Fraternal Order of Police (FOP) has given a vote of no confidence in both Lightfoot and Chicago Police Department (CPD) Superintendent David Brown. It’s a sad state of affairs for “the Windy City.”

At least 12 people were killed and another 42 were wounded in shootings across the Chicagoland area over the weekend. As compared to the previous weekend, at least six people were murdered and another 42 were wounded just one week ago.

One of the victims this past weekend was a 15-year-old boy who was shot while sitting on a front porch. The boy was killed with a gunshot to the head after a car pulled up to the residence and opened fire.

Here’s the unfortunately long list of the names and ages of the people who were murdered in Chicago over the weekend, according to the Chicago Sun-Times:

Dajon Gater, 15

Unidentified Male, 49

Unidentified Male, 56

Johnnie Williams, 46

Haniff Collins, 24

Derrick McCampbell, 29

Unidentified Male, 27

Destiny Nunez, 23

Adrian Navarro, 18

Two other deceased victims not listed

As for the year-to-date totals for Chicago weekend shootings, 105 people have been murdered and another 519 have been wounded in Chicago in 2021. The Chicago Tribune, which keeps a tracker of all shooting victims in Chicago, is reporting that — as of May 19 — 1,209 people have been shot this year. That number is 250 more than at the same point in 2020, which saw the second most shooting victims in the last 10 years of tracking data.
