Finally! Some humanity in Chicago for a change.

A little girl in the heart of Chicago decided that for her her sixth birthday, she wanted to do something different.

Armani Crews, whose birthday was March 5, had been telling her parents for “a few months” that she wanted to feed the homeless. Her parents thought she was joking, but still she persisted.

When her mother, Artesha, finally acquiesced to her daughter’s request by telling her that they could make some sandwiches for people, Armani insisted that wasn’t enough.

“No. I want the same thing we’d have at my birthday party,” her mother recalls Armani telling her.

Her father, Antoine, told his daughter that she’d better be sure, because if she wanted to do this she would have to forgo her birthday present.

Going ahead with Armani’s plan, her parents spent $300 and bought a variety of different food for the homeless.

This precious little girl was not alone in her generosity.

ABC News reported:

After Armani mentioned her plan at the family's local church, congregation members donated other items to create care packages for the homeless.

Each care package included a toothbrush, toothpaste, deodorant, hand sanitizer and a snack, such as a granola bar.

Armani got her birthday wish and then some by being able to feed and help out over 125 people that came together for her very special event.

“She was excited. She was happy,” her mother said. “Everybody was being fed...One of the gentleman said he hadn't had a hot meal in a long time.”

We all wish you a very happy belated birthday, Armani!
