Smugglers left a 37-year-old Mexican woman hanging from a fence on the U.S.-Mexico border Saturday night, according to a recent Customs and Border Protection (CBP) press release.

Smugglers attempted to hoist her into the U.S. using a harness and rope. When CBP agents patrolling the border east of Nogales, Ariz., spotted the woman "precariously dangling from the international border fence," the smugglers ditched the rope and abandoned her.

“When agents approached, the woman attempted to climb back over the fence into Mexico but the smugglers left her hanging,” writes CBP.

The agents called the Nogales Fire Department to get the woman down. She was hanging approximately 15 feet above the ground.

The woman did not have any injuries. She is now facing immigration violations.
