Carlson Blasts Newsweek Writer in Bizarre Interview

Last night's Tucker Carlson interview with Newsweek reporter Kurt Eichwald is indeed one for the books. And you'll probably never see an interview that manages to be this hilarious, pathetic, and bizarre at the same time. In fact, the word "unforgettable" is a a mild way of describing this spectacle of a fireworks display.

In short, Carlson asked Newsweek senior writer Kurt Eichenwald to substantiate a series of tweets and remarks he's recently made about Donald Trump’s mental health. Simple enough, right?

What Carlson got back from Eichenwald was a filibuster the likes of which would put even Ted Cruz to shame.

When Carlson pressed his questions to Eichenwald, the reporter immediately began brandishing a three-ring binder called “Tucker Carlson falsehoods.” Still refusing to answer the questions, Eichenwald then went off on a bizarre rant about a “message” he got from the CIA.

If this strange interview wasn’t enough, Eichenwald did what all deranged, frustrated journalists do in the 21st Century: he took to Twitter with a series of incoherent and downright odd statements. Many of his tweets have since been deleted, but this is the internet. No Twitter rant is safe from screen captures.

The real kicker of the interview came from Carlson at the end:

“How can Newsweek employ you as a reporter, Kurt, when you’re throwing lines like this around that are untrue and that you can’t substantiate. When you say to the President, ‘F you’, that is not the behavior of a reporter.”

Kurt Eichenwald may have described Trump as a “mentally unstable man," but if Tucker Carlson’s interview tells any tales, this liberal reporter may do well to look in the mirror.
