Canadian (former) TV host and current radio broadcaster Alex Pierson joked about a Secret Service agent’s death on Twitter Tuesday in an effort to mock President Trump – and suffice it to say, people weren’t happy.
A so-far unnamed Secret Service agent who’d been traveling in support of Trump’s overseas trip this week died Tuesday morning in Scotland, two days after suffering a stroke during Trump’s brief stay at the Trump Turnberry golf resort. The 42-year-old man, who officials say had served with the agency for 19 years, reportedly leaves behind a wife and two young children.
But apparently to Pierson, this man’s death and his family's suffering is nothing more than a convenient catalyst for insulting Trump. Here's what she tweeted:
Twitter wasn't too happy with Pierson's flagrant exploitation of a tragedy.
You’re so quick to judge what’s appropriate on Twitter and this is your response to a good man dying suddenly, two children becoming fatherless? I’d say shame on you, but you’d need a soul to feel that sting.

Have some flipping decency!! What’s wrong with you?!?

I hope that when you have a loved one die that people do not make jokes about that person for RTs on Twitter. You are an awful person. Where’s your humanity? Check yourself.

Mocking the death of a secret service agent to own Trump.

That's not funny.

A man DIED, for goodness sake.
Despite racking up dozens of negative responses and only 10 “likes,” Pierson’s post was still up Wednesday morning.
Thankfully, the fallen agent is being treated with much more respect than Pierson showed. His body is being flown back to the United States on a military plane and will be accompanied by Secret Service agents until he is laid to rest.
