COVID Connections: Canada’s Top Medical Officer Suggests 'Using a Mask' During Sexual Intercourse

Is it possible these folks don’t see how unhinged they appear to be?

CNN – one of the great gifts that keeps on giving when it comes to offensively dumb political reporting – just offered this one, which took TWO reporters to handle.

Joe Sutton and Susannah Cullinane write that the Canadian government’s “Chief Public Health Officer” issued a press release on September 2 advising people to wear masks while having sex.

You read that correctly.

The release comes from Dr. Theresa Tam, Canada's Chief Public Health Officer, whose tax-paid position itself reminds us that there is no such thing as “public health.” There is only individual health, and the only way the government can claim it is “looking after the health of the group” is by extracting wealth from individuals, which reduces each person’s ability to manage his or her own medical care. One cannot increase the ability of people to care for themselves by extracting their wealth, and a group is made up of individuals who are supposed to be able to make decisions about their own lives. It’s not some giant, gelatinous mass that is healthy or ill.

Offers a completely serious Dr. Tam:

The lowest risk sexual activity during COVID-19 involves yourself alone. If you choose to engage in an in-person sexual encounter with someone outside of your household or close contacts bubble, there are some steps you can take to reduce your risk. The most important step is to establish a trusting relationship with your sexual partner.

Very classy.

And don’t bother discussing marriage. That’s not on her list, even though that would be a key factor in a “trusting relationship” that helped reduce the spread of disease.

Instead, adopt these practices, which are but a few of her suggestions:

  • Monitoring yourself for symptoms of COVID-19 and not having sex if you or your partner is experiencing symptoms;
  • Limiting your use of alcohol and other substances so you and your partner(s) are able to make safe decisions;
  • Skipping kissing and avoiding face-to-face contact or closeness;
    • consider using a mask that covers the nose and mouth

Yep. The people of Canada are forced to pay this woman’s salary, to pay for the offices that typed and formatted the release, and to pay for the webspace to keep it out there for all to see.

They can be proud that the government forces their neighbors to pay for the government ministers and bureaucrats and Dr. Tam and her press releases suggesting that people start dressing like masochists at a bizarre underground sex club.

Is there any chance that Dr. Tam will recognize the obvious mental health problems associated with believing that government coercion and tax thievery are helpful?

Don’t hold your breath – with or without a mask.
