What do you call a system of government that doesn’t respect your Constitutional rights and presses charges against you for defending your property and family from a mob? The answer is a tyrannical government, and the state of California might just have that kind of government if a recent move by the state’s attorney general is any proof.

Democratic California Attorney General Xavier Becerra filed misdemeanor assault charges against the husband of Los Angeles County District Attorney Jackie Lacey on Monday. David Lacey was charged because of an incident in March where he allegedly pulled a gun on “Marxist” Black Lives Matter (BLM) activists who showed up at the couple’s home and harassed them on their doorstep.

Lacey reportedly told the alleged trespassers of private property “I will shoot you” while pointing the firearm at the mob.

In March, left-leaning publication The Daily Beast noted that “about 30 demonstrators gathered in front of Lacey’s home before dawn.”

One of the alleged “victims” in the case, womanist and professor of Pan-African Studies at California State University, Los Angeles Melina Abdullah, posted a video of the incident on Twitter back in March. But, Abdullah only referenced that Lacey pointed the gun at her and not that there were many other “activists” on Lacey’s property.

Abdullah was apparently so threatened by Lacey warning them with a firearm that she didn’t move an inch and continued her “activism” after Lacey said he was going to call police. And for that, Lacey was the one charged with assault for protecting his home and family.

Here’s a question. What kind of maniac do you need to be, what level of loser with nothing else going on in your life do you need to be in order to trespass on someone’s property in the middle of the night and claim you’re there for a “meeting?” Not only that, but you’ve got to be living in a different dimension of reality to think that someone else doesn’t have a right to protect their property.

How did Lacey “assault” anyone? He warned the “activists” that if they didn’t get off his porch he would shoot them. Instead, he called police. Where’s the assault? Words do not equal assault, no matter how fragile your psyche might be. Lacey made no physical contact with any “activist.”

Why didn’t Becerra file misdemeanor trespassing charges against the “activists?”

The Shouse Law Group posted about California statute, Penal Code 602 PC, which covers trespassing.

“A person trespasses by entering, or remaining on, someone else’s property without permission or a right to do so,” the group’s website wrote. “The offense is a misdemeanor with a maximum sentence of 6 months in jail and a fine of $1000.00.”
