Billboards Depicting the Bible Removed From a California Mall After Complaints

1.2k views

A billboard displaying an image of the Bible was removed from a popular mall in Orange County, California, after a real estate company received several complaints.

The billboards showed evangelist Pastor Greg Laurie, who leads the multi-campus Harvest Christian Fellowship, holding the sacred Christian book, which was apparently offensive to some Californians.

Laurie asked real estate companies to post the billboards to advertise his upcoming SoCal Harvest event at Angel Stadium in Anaheim, California. Billboards were put up in multiple locations, but were then taken down after the companies received complaints and even one “serious threat” regarding the image of the Bible.

Laurie revised the images in hopes of keeping the billboards up. Even still, the billboards were ultimately removed.

"Why is it all of a sudden offensive to even reference this book?" Laurie asked on Fox & Friends Thursday morning. "Instead of being offended by it, maybe more people ought to read it and see what it has to say."

But why would Californians read when they could spending their time complaining about straws and the Bible, instead?
