Calif. Gov. Newsom Announces New Restrictions, Stay-at-Home Curfew for Majority of Californians

The people in charge of California need to give up the charade of saying what they continuously do is in the name of “democracy” and just admit that communism is the direction they’re taking their state.

Far-left California Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) announced on Thursday that all “non-essential work and gatherings” in “counties in the purple tier” will have a stay-at-home curfew so that the state can “flatten the curve again.”

For those who don’t know, the purple tier "indicates widespread risk" and covers the majority of the entire state of California. Besides San Francisco, pretty much all of the major cities in the state are in the purple tier.

I suppose the only solace Californians can take from Newsom’s latest order is that the lockdown is only for seven hours, mostly in the middle of the night.

You have to look for a silver lining for regular folks somewhere.

In the press release on Newsom’s gubernatorial website, the governor’s Health and Human Services Secretary, Dr. Mark Ghaly, made a strange statement.

“We know from our stay at home order this spring, which flattened the curve in California, that reducing the movement and mixing of individuals dramatically decreases COVID-19 spread, hospitalizations, and deaths,” Ghaly said.

“Reducing the movement and mixing of individuals?” Since the beginning of this pandemic, anyone affiliated in government has called people getting together as “gatherings.” What Ghaly said was very specific. It could be nothing, but put nothing past any politician or government official in California. That was a very authoritarian statement.

There's no word if the order applies to Newsom after the governor was caught defying his own orders at a restriction-less dinner party recently.
