A California high school is under fire from angry parents after students were reportedly forced to attend a school-wide assembly in which other students performed in provocative drag attire.

According to an email from Pleasant Grove High School in Elk Grove, California sent before the event, the display was part of the school’s “Multicultural Expo,” which all students were required to attend. The email noted that the performance was “for students only,” and that families could not attend or pick their student up early from school until the show was complete.

But, unbeknownst to parents, the “expo” included a drag show put on by other students, which began with one performer calling the display a “protest” for “[drag] queens and transgender youth.” The student went on to call out Republican-led states for “targeting” transgender youth, including Oklahoma, Idaho, Florida, Arizona, Texas, Arkansas, Mississippi, Kansas, Alabama, and Tennessee.

The group of boys in short skirts and skin-tight spandex then proceeded to dance and gyrate to the beat of pop music while the audience of teachers and fellow students cheered them on.

According to LibsofTikTok, one student was so uncomfortable that he texted his mom during the event saying he couldn’t even watch it. When his mother suggested he get up and walk out of the room, he told her he wasn’t allowed to leave.

In the fact of criticism, the school doubled down on the event, saying it was in “full compliance” with school policy and was completely approved by school administrators beforehand.

“The show included only Elk Grove Unified students and was held in full compliance with student codes of conduct and existing requirements for on-campus events,” the school said in a statement. “All performances at the multicultural assembly were approved by school staff and administration with the support of EGUSD Secondary Education."

To be fair, no one's arguing that the event happened without the knowledge or approval of the school - on the contrary, the fact that school administrators OK'd this atrocity isn't a shock at all.

The only shocking part about this is that our society has reached a place in which grown adults think forcing students to watch boys dressed in skanky female clothing gyrate for "diversity" is not only acceptable, but praiseworthy.
