Bud Light just set a new record - though probably not the kind they were going for.

It looks like the fallout from the company’s ill-fated partnership with trans TikToker Dylan Mulvaney hasn’t quite found its rock-bottom yet, as Bud Light sales plummeted another 26.8% in the week ending June 10. The drop marks the largest weekly sales decrease since Mulvaney first published a video on social media showing himself drinking Bud Light out of a canister emblazoned with his face, complete with makeup and fake eyelashes, while mocking women's knowledge of basketball.

The beer brand’s parent company, Anhueser-Busch, has already tried to make amends with irritated customers who immediately voiced to boycott the brew, firing two top-level Bud Light marketing execs and releasing an apology of sorts along with a slew of pro-America ads and campaign gimmicks aimed at blue collar folks - all while buying back expired product left sitting on grocery store shelves and convenience store windows all across the country. The olive branches don’t seem to have been accepted by loyal Bud Light consumers who didn’t take kindly to an effeminate dude in a dress lounging in a bubble bath telling them to buy more beer.

Thanks largely to its declining sales, the company’s market cap tanked from $130.2 billion on May 1 to $117.2 billion on June 19, losing roughly 10% of its value.

Meanwhile, Modelo has displaced Bud Light as the nation’s top-selling beer, likely because straight male customers would rather buy something brewed for those with a fighting spirit than those with a bedazzled one.
