Mirror, mirror, on the wall, what’s the biggest movie bomb of all?
Apparently, Disney thinks it might just be their new live-action remake of “Snow White,” which looks to be getting the B-list treatment by the entertainment giant ahead of its March 21 theater premiere.
According to this, Disney is seriously downgrading the film’s rollout compared to other recent films, opting for a small, low-key premiere party at the El Capitan Theatre in Hollywood on March 15 rather than a typical red carpet event. The move comes after the film, whose release has already been delayed once, was plagued by scandals and controversy. From casting a dark-skinned Latina actress to play the titular “Snow White” character to featuring seven “magical creatures” of various ethnicities and sizes (which Disney later replaced by weird CGI dwarves, at great time and expense), the House of Mouse’s latest silver screen offering kicked off with no shortage of mockery.

Those blunders were quickly followed by actress Rachel Zegler (who plays the not-so-Snow White) insulting the original 1940s animated film as old and outdated, suggesting the original prince was a sexist and declaring that in her rendition, Snow White won’t care about finding true love.
“She’s not going to be saved by the prince and she’s not going to be dreaming about true love. She’s dreaming about becoming the leader she knows she can be and the leader that her late father told her that she could be if she was fearless, fair, brave and true,” Zegler said in a now infamous 2022 interview.
Needless to say, her comments didn’t exactly endear anyone to the film. So perhaps it’s no surprise that Zegler and her co-star, Gal Gadot, reportedly won’t be taking questions from the media at the March 15 premiere. Disney has also apparently hand-selected the photographers and an in-house media crew to cover the event, rather than open it up to the press as usual.
