I’m not sure the exact moment when elected legislators decided that openly spewing profanity and crude pejoratives was the “cool” way to communicate, but it doesn’t amuse. From Jasmine Crockett telling Elon Musk to “f*** off” during a media interview or Senate Democrats releasing pre-written, coordinated social media videos like little parrots accusing Trump of saying “s**t that ain’t true,” leftist politicians have become increasingly reliant on cursing to make whatever point they’re rambling on about that week.
Sen. Chuck Schumer appears to have jumped on the bandwagon, even to the point of launching slurs against his Republican colleagues simply because they occupy more seats in Congress than his party and are refusing to let him have his way. In an interview with MSNBC Thursday, Schumer openly called GOP lawmakers “bastards.”
“To have the conflict on the best grounds we have, summed up in a sentence, that they’re making the middle class pay for tax cuts for billionaires, it's much, much better not to be in the middle of a shutdown, which would divert people from the number one issue we have against these bastards - sorry, these people - which is not only all these cuts, but they’re ruining democracy.”

Ah yes, the old “ruining democracy” bit. Kind of like when your 13-year-old daughter accuses you of “ruining her life” because you won’t let her go to some party or something.

To be fair, we’ve come to expect hood rat behavior from Jasmine Crockett, and Democrats have a penchant for posting cringeworthy social media videos trying to gin up support from a younger audience. But while I don’t expect Chuck Schumer to agree with Republicans on…well, anything, actually, given his love for abortion and open borders and war and big government, it’d be nice to see at least a modicum of professionalism from the Senate Minority Leader, of all people.
But alas, it looks like Democrats have misplaced their decency again. Probably wherever they left their common sense.
