A Florida pizza delivery driver is facing multiple charges after allegedly stabbing a pregnant woman multiple times in a motel room following a dispute over a tip, authorities said Wednesday.

Brianna Alvelo, 22, was arrested and charged with stabbing the woman Sunday evening at the Riviera Motel in Kissimmee, a city located just south of Orlando, after the woman gave her a measly $2 tip, according to the Osceola County Sheriff's Office.

The victim, her boyfriend, and their 5-year-old daughter were staying at a motel, court documents show. After placing an order with a nearby Marco's Pizza, the victim received the delivery late Sunday evening.

The sheriff’s office said that when Alvelo delivered the pizza — totaling about $33 — the victim paid with a $50 bill and requested change. Alvelo reportedly told her she didn’t have any change, prompting the victim to search her wallet and car for smaller bills. Court documents stated that Alvelo then became upset over the delay, then walked away when the woman gave her a $2 tip.

But that's where things took an even more violent turn. According to police, Alvelo returned to the motel with a man, who then forced their way into the room wearing face masks and brandishing a gun. The pair allegedly ordered the victim’s boyfriend into the bathroom and began rummaging through the victim's belongings. During the confrontation, the victim tried to shield her daughter, but Alvelo reportedly attacked her, stabbing her 14 times. The victim later learned she was pregnant while receiving treatment at the hospital.

Deputies arrived at the scene after receiving reports of a home invasion and stabbing. They found the victim with multiple stab wounds, and further investigation revealed that Alvelo’s attack was linked to the tip dispute. She was transported to a local hospital and is in stable condition.

Alvelo was arrested the following day and is facing charges including attempted murder, home invasion with a firearm, kidnapping, and aggravated assault. The man who was reportedly with Alvelo during the attack has not yet been identified.

As of Wednesday, Alvelo remains in custody at the Osceola County Jail on a $55,000 bond.

The sheriff's office said in a statement that the attack was "an isolated incident."

Look, I'm not saying a $2 tip isn't insulting for a pizza delivery and being made to stand around and wait for someone to fish cash out out from under their sedan seats. But I have a feeling Alvelo's legal bills are going to set her back even more.
