It’s pretty common knowledge now that the clothes paraded around in most high-end fashion shows aren’t exactly what you’d grab for a stroll around the park. Whether it’s a dress made out of balloon animals or pants sewn together from the pieces of ripped up garbage bags, luxury designers aren’t known for cobbling together comfy knits for the rest of us to longe around in while watching true crime documentaries.
But how about…no clothes at all?
Having apparently exhausted the list of bizarre ideas for actual clothing, designer Duran Lantink decided “topless” would be a major theme in his Fall 2025 collection. Oh, but not normal toplessness, as though that itself would be cool. Nope, Lantink’s latest runway show, held at the Palais de Tokyo room in Paris on Sunday, is going viral for featuring a skinny male model strapped with fake rubbery breasts strutting through the room.
Disclaimer: the boobs aren't real, but the weirdness is.
The display was apparently part of Lantink’s “Duranimal” collection, which featured pieces in various animal prints before trotting out the barley-there nude-colored top with prosthetic boobs.
The show also featured a female model wearing a “shirt” that looked like a man’s bare chest. Although I’m pretty sure the plastic bobbing woman-nipples got more attention.
Just another reason not to be envious of the pretentious Hollywood elite, or what they believe is worth your time.
