Kamala Harris wishes you a happy Indigenous People’s Day, filled with race-baiting, historical revisions, and centuries-old grudges that aren’t actually yours to carry.

But hey, it’s more fun being angry than correct, right?

Speaking on what-used-to-be-Columbus Day, Vice President Harris gave a stirring speech on the evils of white people and the expansion of Western Civilization that brought civilized culture, innovation, and modernization to barbarian cultures across North America and the rest of the world, instead blaming Europeans for bringing “devastation, violence, stealing land, and widespread disease.”

“It is an honor to be with you this week as we celebrate Indigenous People’s Day, as we speak truth about our nation’s history," she began.

“Since 1934, every October, the United States has recognized to voyage of the European explorers who first landed on the shores of the Americans. But that is not the whole story. That has never been the whole story,” Harris blathered on.

“Those explorers  ushered in a wave of devastation for tribal nations, perpetrating violence, stealing land, and spreading disease. We must not shy away from this shameful past,” she continued.

Of course, Harris notably ignores the historical fact that Native American tribes already living in the Americas (descended from people who came over a land bridge from eastern Asia centuries or even millennia before, and didn’t simply spring up out of the prairie) were regularly perpetuating violence against one another well before Europeans showed up, including conquering - excuse me, stealing - one another’s territories, selling and enslaving captives, murdering and pillaging one another’s villages, and scalping their enemies. In fact, following the creation of the United States, many Native American tribes requested assistance from the U.S. Army during conflicts with other tribes.

The descendants of whom now tweet their complaints about white guys on smartphones in a country where they’re allowed to speak their minds and have the right not to be murdered by the next tribe over.

But sure, the white guys were just awful.
