From finding imaginary apostrophes to suddenly discovering his senility, so-called “journalists” are doing backbends to come up with a way to spin President Joe Biden’s comments calling Trump supporters “garbage” during a filmed fundraiser address Tuesday.

The clip, which instantly went viral just as Kamala Harris was delivering her closing remarks at a rally in D.C. Tuesday night, shows Biden addressing Tony Hinchcliffe’s crack about Puerto Rico during Trump’s rally Sunday, in which the “Kill Tony” comedian jokingly referred to the island as a “floating island of garbage.”

“And just the other day, a speaker at his rally called Puerto Rico ‘a floating island of garbage.’ Well, let me tell you something … I don’t know the Puerto Rican that I know… or Puerto Rico where I’m – in my home state of Delaware – they’re good, decent, honorable people,” Biden said during his video remarks on the pro-Harris “Voto Latino” get-out-the-vote call.

“The only garbage I see floating out there is his supporters,” Biden then said, befogging continuing, “His, his demonization of Latinos is unconscionable and it’s un-American.”

The statement immediately enraged the millions of Trump supporters the president had just branded as trash, and threatened to wipe out any momentum the Harris campaign had gained from Hinchcliffe’s previous comments. So, naturally, the White House and many in the leftist media instantly shifted into damage control mode.

NPR media correspondent David Folkenflik, who works for a taxpayer-subsidized media machine that spent more than three years insisting that Biden’s mental faculties were sharp, blamed the president’s apparently sudden onset senility for the gaffe, posting to X, “You know, having listened to this several times, I think you have an octogenarian with a stutter for whom clarity is an increasing challenge. Precisely why Biden was eased from race for reelection.

“Really don’t sense he’s calling Trump supporters garbage,” Folkenflik added.

Others immediately seized on the White House’s hastily cobbled-together transcript of Biden’s statement, in which they spliced two distinctly separate sentences together to claim that Biden was referring to Trump’s “demonization of Latinos” as “garbage,” and ignoring the very clear video of his comments that shows otherwise.

CNN convened an entire panel full of people - save one - who excused Biden’s statement as the gaffe of a man who isn’t the most “fluent speaker,” pointing to his stutter - which had nothing to do with this at all - for why he may have simply tripped up and, you know, called 80 million-plus of his own people pieces of human trash.

It’ll be interesting to watch the same people who spent the past three days stroking out over some comedian’s ad-libbed joke try to spin the sitting president’s very serious branding of millions of Americans as garbage.

And the harder they go at it, the more their own clear, unapologetic bias gets shoved into the spotlight.
