The leftist media is once again rolling in the hoaxes - this time, publishing a new “bombshell” report concerning “new allegations” against Trump Defense Secretary nominee Pete Hegseth - who has already been grilled during his confirmation hearing about his sex life and whether he's ever had a beer - that now claim he abused his ex-wife.

The only problem? His own ex-wife, the supposed domestic abuse victim herself, says it’s not true.

But that didn’t stop Democrat politicians and the leftist media from running with the already-debunked story anyway, with NBC publishing a story emblazoned with the headline: “Senators receive affidavit containing new allegations against Pete Hegseth, who denies the claims.”

So does his ex, but no need to mention that, I suppose.

The article states U.S. Senators have received an affidavit from Hegseth’s ex-sister-in-law, Danielle Hegseth, who claims Hegseth’s behavior toward his ex-wife, Samantha, made her fear for her own safety. (Danielle was formerly married to Pete Hegseth’s brother, which I’m sure hasn’t left a trail of sour grapes at all.)

In the affidavit, Danielle explained, “I have chosen to come forward publicly, at significant personal sacrifice, because I am deeply concerned by what Hegseth’s confirmation would mean for our military and our country,” saying she’s going public with these never-before-heard allegations now “because I have been assured that making this public statement will ensure that certain Senators who are still on the fence will vote against Hegseth’s confirmation.”

At least she’s not playing coy about her motive?

NBC also notes that Rhode Island Democrat Sen. Jack Reed, the ranking Democrat on the Senate Armed Services Committee, has asked Danielle Hegseth to detail what she knew of “instances of abuse, or threats of abuse, perpetrated against any other person” and “mistreatment of a spouse, former spouse, or other members of his family,” claiming that “reports of Mr. Hegseth’s history of alleged sexual assault, alcohol abuse, and public misconduct necessitate an exhaustive background investigation.

“I have been concerned that the background check process has been inadequate, and this sworn affidavit confirms that fact,” Reed said in a statement.

Except that Samantha Deering - Hegseth's second wife, and the allegedly abused woman at the center of this non-scandal - says the whole thing is bunk, to the point that she’s involving her lawyers.

"First and foremost, I have not and will not comment on my marriage to Pete Hegseth,” Deering responded in a statement, NBC reported. “I do not have representatives speaking on my behalf, nor have I ever asked anyone to share or speak about the details of my marriage on my behalf, whether it be a reporter, a committee member, a transition team member, etc."

"I do not believe your information to be accurate, and I have cc’d my lawyer,” she want on, adding, “There was no physical abuse in my marriage. This is the only further statement I will make to you, I have let you know that I am not speaking and will not speak on my marriage to Pete. Please respect this decision.”

On top of that, both Hegseth and Deering signed a court document in 2021 swearing that neither had been a victim of domestic abuse.

Of course, NBC buried all that about halfway through the article, knowing most of their lemmings won't read past a headline.
