While Jewish students are blocked from getting to class and assaulted on college campuses, Muslims have free rein to take over entire swaths of American cities for religious events to promote a "cultural understanding" of their faith. In case you were looking for another example of left-wing "tolerance."
Hundreds of Muslims shut down Times Square in New York City Sunday night for a prayer event marking the start of the month of Ramadan. Video from Times Square shows a sea of Islamists illuminated by the light from dozens of giant electronic billboards rolling out their prayer mats and engaging in Tarawih, specific prayers for Sunni Muslims that involve reciting long portions of the Quran and performing rakahs, which involve standing and then prostrating oneself on the ground repeatedly. Event leaders chanted and sang in Arabic through loudspeakers to the crowd.

Tarawih prayers are only performed during the moth of Ramadan, when Muslims are required to fast between sun-up and sundown. While voluntary, the prayers are thought of in Islam as a way to open up a connection to Allah.

The “Tarawih in Times Square" event was orchestrated by Way of Life SQ, a social media group promoting Islam and helping connect Muslims online, and in collaboration with the Canadian charity Droplets of Mercy along with Muzz, a dating app specifically for Muslims. The groups held a similar event in Times Square last year. According to the event description, the event wasn’t only to give practicing Muslims a place to engage in prayers, but also to aid in “promoting interfaith understanding and cultural appreciation.”
Because as we all know, if anyone needs to better "understand" Islam, it's...New Yorkers.
