I’m not sure what’s in the water over at Walter Reed, but it must have sunk some sense into John Fetterman.

The junior Pennsylvania senator’s been sounding more and more like a moderate, old-school liberal since his bout with depression landed him in the hospital for nearly a month back in 2023. On top of openly and vocally supporting Israel in its fight against Hamas, Fetterman has now come out against so-called “squatters rights,” which have allowed criminal invaders to take over property owners’ homes thanks to insane state laws that grant them legal tenant protections.

“Squatters have no rights,” Fetterman said in an interview with the New York Post this week. “How can you even pretend that this is anything other than you’re just breaking the law?”

“It’s wild, that if you go away on a long trip, for 30 days, and someone breaks into your home and suddenly they have rights,” he continued. “This is crazy. Like if somebody stole your car, and then they held it for 30 days, then somehow you now have some rights?”

Fetterman repeated his claim that despite being a card-carrying Democrat, he is “not woke,” before blasting soft-on-crime laws that allow violent criminals to walk free and have caused crime to skyrocket in many major American cities. The Pennsylvania lawmaker referred to Guy Rivera, one of two people charged in the shooting death of NYPD Detective Jonathan Dillard during a traffic stop last month. Rivera had at least 21 prior arrests, predominantly for drug and assault crimes.

“I have gone to police funerals,” Fetterman said. “If this individual is convicted, then he should spend the rest of his life in prison, and never have an opportunity to get out.”

“If you have those kinds of established records, It doesn’t serve any greater goal to allow people that are offending, offending, offending and allow them to not be held accountable,” he went on.

Agreed. Now try telling your Democrat buddies that.
