Hello, 911? I’d like to report a murder.

Not an actual murder - that’s more the speed of MS-13 gangbangers who like to hack teenagers up with machetes and leave their entrails strewn through the woods, while congressional Democrats send delegations to El Salvador to jailbreak them and haul them back to the United States.

In the meantime, the Department of Homeland Security has their hands busy trying to round up and boot out violent criminals and traffickers, while fending off the lies from leftists and their media laptops.

Lies like, well, this one.

NBC News earlier this week published a scathing indictment of DHS’ deportation efforts, claiming that “New images could change cancer diagnostics, but ICE detained the Harvard scientist who analyzes them.”

The article, which is definitely not biased in favor of unlawful immigration whatsoever (wink, wink), details the woeful tale of one Kseniia Petrova, a 30-year-old Russian woman and Harvard grad who was detained at Logan International Airport in Boston back in February for, in the words of NBC News, “failing to declare samples of frog embryos to be used in scientific research.” She’s now being held at an ICE facility in Monroe, Louisiana, and is facing deportation back to Russia, where she says she fears persecution due to her pro-Ukraine views.

“Without scientist Kseniia Petrova’s expertise, no one can fully unlock the data’s potential, putting crucial advancements in early cancer detection at risk,” NBC fretted.

Hear that? Out of everyone in the entire scientific community, this one woman you’d never heard about before now is all that stands between humanity and all of us dying from cancer.

The Department of Homeland Security, however, took issue with NBC’s slanted version of the story, and sought to clarify things in a post on X.

“The individual was lawfully detained after lying to federal officers about carrying substances into the country,” DHS explained in the statement.

“A subsequent K9 inspection uncovered undeclared petri dishes, containers of unknown substances, and loose vials of embryonic frog cells, all without proper permits,” the department continued. “Messages found on her phone revealed she planned to smuggle the materials through customs without declaring them.”

“She knowingly broke the law and took deliberate steps to evade it,” DHS explained.

Because, in case you weren’t aware, it’s actually a terrible idea to let people smuggle petri dishes full of unknown biological materials into the country.

Leftists, however, have decided they’re fine with foreigners hauling God-only-knows what biological agents in their suitcases right alongside professionals on business trips and American families coming home from vacation. What’s the worst that could happen? Especially when enforcing immigration law could impact the only person on the planet Earth capable of interpret scientific data to cure cancer.

The only one, y’all.
