Daily Wire: Disney's Mad Scramble Proves Conservative Pressure Is Working

The House of Mouse is scrambling.

From rumors that Disney DEO Bob Iger is quaking in his loafers over his company’s recent box office bombs to “Snow White” actress Rachel Zegler pulling a 180 on her earlier scathing comments about the original 1937 film, it appears to anyone with eyeballs and a capacity for putting two-and-two together that Disney, once a children’s entertainment juggernaut, is trying desperately to win back customers’ trust - and money.

But that’s going to be a lot harder to do thanks to companies like The Daily Wire, who have begun offering their own library of kid’s shows and films to give options to parents and families who simply want good, quality content for their children without all the political propaganda and “woke” ideology. In addition to a lineup of regular kid’s programming, the conservative company’s new streaming platform, BentKey, is gearing up to release its own rendition of “Snow White” in 2024. And unlike Zegler, the Daily Wire’s Brett Cooper, who will be playing the iconic raven-haired heroine in the DW’s film, had nothing but praise for the beloved classic.

“I was raised on the original Grimms’ Fairy Tales, so I’m thrilled that we’re bringing this iconic story to life for the next generation! Snow White is such a beautiful character, and I’m honored to be playing her. Like all the best fairy tales, this is a story with timeless values, like love, friendship, and kindness, and I can’t wait to share them,” Cooper said.

And according to the Daily Wire, their efforts to bring families solid entertainment options without the side of woke are starting to pay off, and Disney’s feeling the heat.

“Disney’s rapid change of course is encouraging because it shows the kind of impact we can have when we apply the right kind of pressure,” a Daily Wire spokesperson told MRCTV following our reporting that Rachel Zegler, who’s set to play the titular role in Disney’s upcoming live action remake of “Snow White,” was now hailing the original animated film as a “monumental moment in film history” - a far cry from her earlier claims that the classic was “weird” and “outdated.”

“Our only hope for taking back the culture from the Left is to build alternatives that force these institutions to have to compete for conservatives’ business again,” the DW added. “Though the fight is far from over, these wins should serve as encouragement to all conservatives that victory in the greatest cultural battles of our time is possible if we stay the course.”

While not every call for a boycott ends up being a raving success, there’s no denying that conservatives have gotten fed up with companies pushing their far-left agenda, and they’ve spoken with their wallets. Bud Light, once America’s top-selling beer, watched their sales plummet with no recovery in sight after hiring trans TikToker Dylan Mulvaney as a spokesperson, sparking widespread disgust from people who didn’t want a dude in drag trying to sell them beer.Target faced similar backlash - and a financial hit - after their ill-fated move to sell “tuck-friendly” swimwear and gender-bending clothes for children and babies last summer.

While both Disney’s and the Daily Wire’s competing versions of Snow White have yet to hit the screens, the fact that Disney has yet to release a box office success this year suggests parents aren’t thrilled about the company’s hard-left turn. And the proof is in the profits.
