A U.S. congressman said a pro-Israel sign hanging outside his office was vandalized this week, in just the latest example of pro-Palestine supporters tearing up or defacing messages in support of Jews who were massacred by Hamas on October 7.

Rep. Tim Walberg, a Republican from Michigan, said he placed a sign about his congressional office door that read, “I Stand With Israel” along with the image of an Israeli flag. The congressman had posted a picture of the sign on X, formerly known as Twitter, on Monday.

“The world should be united in condemning this terror and helping deter future attacks. We must also condemn the anti-Semitism, threats, and lies that have erupted worldwide,” he wrote at the time.

By Thursday night, Walberg said the sign had been defaced with two red handprints.

“We've seen many examples of Hamas sympathizers ripping down posters of innocent hostages. Now, right here in the House office buildings, we see more cowardly acts of vandalism targeting those standing against terrorism,” Walberg wrote, adding, “This only strengthens our resolve.”

The alleged vandalism comes as pro-Palestine protests have erupted in countless cities, on college campuses, and even in the U.S. Capitol decrying Israeli “occupation” and blaming the Jews for the Hamas terrorist attack that claimed more than 1,200 Israeli lives earlier this month.

Staff at Cooper Union, a private college in Manhattan, struggled to control a pro-Palestine rally on campus Wednesday as protesters began banging on library doors, reportedly prompting employees to tell visibly Jewish students they could “hide in the attic” if they wanted to. In Minneapolis, protesters openly flew a Hamas flag through the streets during an anti-Israel rally that spilled out into the streets, clogged up intersections, and even led to an elderly driver being assaulted as he tried to make his way through the crowd.
