The NYPD has canceled scheduled vacations and called in all officers to report in uniform Friday amid calls by Hamas leaders for a day of global “day of anger” in support of Palestine - and, I might add, in support of the total annihilation of the nation of Israel and the Jews.

“All uniformed members of the service in every rank, will perform duty in the uniform of the day and be prepared for deployment,” read a Wednesday night memo sent to all NYPD members. The order effectively canceled scheduled leave days, training, and all shift changes as the department preps to deal with potential violence. Per the New York Post, the department is also adding extra layers of security to its own precincts.

Similarly, all officers with the Los Angeles Police Department have also been ordered to be on duty and patrolling Friday.

The move comes after Khaled Meshaal, who served as chief of Hamas from 2004 to 2017, put out a call online for mass unrest to send a "message of rage to Zionists and to America." Police departments across the U.S. have stepped up security around Jewish synagogues, communities, businesses, and diplomatic buildings ahead of potentially violent protests Friday. Washington, D.C. police and Secret Service say they’re beefing up protection in the city and particularly around the Israeli embassy downtown, while law enforcement across the nation say they’re actively monitoring calls for violence against Jews in the U.S., which they warned will likely continue well past Friday.

A temple in a Chicago suburb has already received a bomb threat, while a synagogue in Salt Lake City, Utah, was forced to evacuate after receiving a similar message. In St. Louis, Missouri, a swastika was found spray-painted on the side of a truck, while protesters at a rally in New York City earlier this week could be seen holding up the Nazi symbol amid waving Palestinian flags.
