The Customs and Border Patrol (CBP) of San Diego has made more video available of the border wall prototypes going up, while California’s Attorney General continues efforts to slow down the wall building process.

Last week CBP San Diego tweeted: “Workers put finishing touches on some prototypes; getting ready to start others. There will be 8 total.”

Progress on the border wall prototypes has moved forward, despite legal challenges to efforts to expedite the construction of a wall at the U.S. Mexico border.

The Department of Homeland Security (DHS) used a 2005 law that exempts the government from extensive reviews of environmental impacts and other regulations in order to move forward with the wall project in the San Diego area.

Promises to build a “big, beautiful” border wall were pillars of Donald Trump’s presidential campaign.

California’s AG, former Democratic House Member Xavier Becerra, filed a lawsuit late last month that asks that the federal government be ordered to comply with environmental laws, which would include producing an environmental impact statement.

The lawsuit alleges the federal government lacks proper environmental analysis of the impacts for the wall prototypes, as well as for a planned 2,000 mile border wall.

Becerra called the border wall proposal "medieval" during an April interview on ABC’s “This Week.”

KGTV reports the San Diego City Council voted 5-3 to pass a resolution opposing a border wall, claiming it would be detrimental to tourism in the area.

The wall prototypes are to be completed in less than 30 days.
