“The situation at our Southern border has gone from a crisis, to a national emergency, to a near system-wide meltdown.”

That was former DHS Secretary Kirstjen Nielson back in mid-March talking to Auburn University’s Center for Cyber & Homeland Security, discussing just how critical the illegal immigration situation at the Southwest U.S. border had become.

Now, it seems to be even worse.

The largest since group ever to be caught crossing the border at a single point was apprehended this week when a total of 1,036 illegal aliens were caught on camera crossing through a chain-link border fence near El Paso, Texas, according to AP News.

President trump tweeted out a video showing them pouring out of what was a hole in the fencing in that area.

In what can only be described as a total breakdown of our southern border so far, President Trump has so far failed to try and impede the flow of illegal aliens into the U.S., largely due to stonewalling from congressional Democrats and an uphill battle through the courts. With illegal alien crossing records being broken month-over-month, there seems to be no end to the flow.

More than 460,000 illegal aliens have been apprehended so far this fiscal year. Based on current U.S. immigration policy, many of these migrants, especially those crossing as families with children, will be released into the U.S. and some of them may even be given work permits.

President Trump announced a 5 percent tariff on all good that come from Mexico into the U.S. beginning June 10 until Mexican authorities begin helping to stop the flow of illegal aliens through their country and into the United States.
