Yesterday morning in Pass-A-Grille, Florida, a beachgoer searching for seashells came across something a bit unexpected: A World War II era bomb. Officials could not explain where the device came from but said it, "appeared to have been submerged for a significant period."

The Pinellas County Sheriff's office called in the Hillsborough County Sheriff's Office Bomb Squad and experts from MacDill Air Force Base. The Air Force confirmed the device was an m122 photoflash bomb

Due to its age, officials decided detonation through a controlled blast was the best course of action to dispose of the bomb. They attached C-4 explosives and blew the bomb in a spectacular display.
