The federal courthouse in Louisville, Kentucky has boarded up windows on the first floor and its doors will be closed for the week.

WLKY is reporting that the actions are being done as city officials are preparing to make an announcement on a decision on whether police officers will be charged in the Breonna Taylor case.

WLKY reached out to the mayor's office Friday about the courthouse and timing on a decision. We were told, 'We have not been told when an announcement from the AG is coming, but we believe we will get some advanced notice.'

The state AG’s office has been investigating Taylor’s shooting death on the night her apartment was raided as part of a narcotics investigation.

The city of Louisville paid a $12 million settlement to Taylor's family last week as part of a civil lawsuit.

Taylor was killed March 13 when Taylor's apartment was raided on a warrant regarding a narcotics investigation.

Police say her boyfriend, Kenneth Walker, fired at officers entering the residence. Walker claims he did not know it was police at the door. Officers returned fire, hitting Taylor multiple times.
